LG releases Ice Cream Sandwich update plans

0

While we all know that LG is somewhat late or slow on releasing updates for their devices (just like on the Optimus One and the rest of the Optimus siblings which just received the Gingerbread update lately and still yet to receive), LG managed to make early announcements regarding their plans about Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 updates.

LG Android Ice Cream Sandwich update plans
According to the announcement from the LG Mobile Facebook page, LG says those high end smartphones which were introduced this year such as the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus 3D and Optimus LTE will be the first ones to have a taste on the updates of the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

In addition, LG says they are still evaluating the Ice Cream Sandwich platform to determine if the features, functionality, and performance of this latest version of Android OS will also be compatible to their other smartphones so that they can also make it available for older phones such as the LG Optimus Chic and Optimus One whenever it's possible.

LG plans to start the Ice Cream Sandwich update process starting on December this year. Additional details regarding the future updates will be posted on the LG Mobile Facebook page and some local LG websites.

Android Jelly Bean may be next after Ice Cream Sandwich

2

Android Jelly BeanIt is believed that the next version of Google’s Android mobile operating system after Ice Cream Sandwich will be named as “Android Jelly Bean”, according to some reliable sources. This one is possibly true. We think the name “Jelly Bean” is completely possible considering Google’s tradition of naming Android versions after delicious sweets and desserts in alphabetical order (Cupcake - Donut - Éclair - Froyo - Gingerbread – Honeycomb - Ice Cream Sandwich - Jelly Bean???).

However, since its predecessor Ice Cream Sandwich’s version number has not been finalized yet, the version number for this so-called Android Jelly Bean is still unknown as well. Although it is believed that Ice Cream Sandwich will be version 4.0, still, these things are not yet official so we cannot just make any assumptions.

The only thing we should do for now is to continue keeping on track about this and wait for Google to announce these things officially.

LG Optimus One Gingerbread update is finally here!

1

Good news to the LG Optimus One P500 users out there! At last, the long wait is over. The much awaited official Gingerbread update for your smartphone has finally come. It has been reported in various countries around the world that LG has started rolling out the official Android Gingerbread update for the LG Optimus One P500. It is believed that the Gingerbread update being released by LG has a version of Android 2.3.3 - the latest so far.

LG Optimus One Gingerbread update is finally here!, tech n stuffs, lg, optimus one, gingerbread, androidExcited Optimus One users may install this update to their smartphones by downloading first the update files through the LG desktop client then install it manually on the smartphones. It should be noted that the update can only be done using the desktop client and not by updating the phone directly. This is expected since LG has been doing this kind of procedure since the previous ones. LG says the advantage of this procedure is that the existing files stored in the phone memory will not be erased/ deleted during and after the update process so backing-up data first may not be necessary (but it is still recommended that you should back-up your data first before updating).

Though the release seems way too late than expected, still it’s better to finally see LG releasing this Gingerbread update than completely not seeing any progress.
